Website Footers Guide
Website footers are valuable screen real estate that are featured on every single page of your website. By updating the footer, it will automatically show everywhere.
A good website footer will include:
- Your organization's legal name as well as its DBA name (if applicable)
- Your organization's EIN or TAX ID
- Your organizations nonprofit status (i.e. if it is a 501(c)3 organization)
- A special 'footer menu' that will include links to key pages on your website similar to the main menu. For more information on menus, please read 'Non-Cash Asset Donation Accessibility in Menus'.
This example above is from the American Cancer Society website. It is an excellent example of a website footer that includes key fundraising info including links to their ways to give page, methods of giving, it mentions the organizations tax exempt status and it's tax ID number.
